Description
52 yr old drummer with decades of live and recording experience finding my way back into playing again. It’s been about 15 years since I last regularly played with a gigging band and the desire to play live again has become a priority. I’ve been practicing with a couple of bands in the NoCo area, but neither seem particularly driven to play out for different reasons. Fun to play with others again, but now I want more, and need more to keep me interested.
I won’t lie I’m still shaking off some rust but getting back pretty quickly and hours a week of practicing are paying off; to the point I want to get more serious about finding others who really want to play out as well, but who have a little patience too as I get fully back. I’m no Neil Peart (never really wanted to be) but I am solid and can keep good time with song appropriate fills, while listening and fitting in with everyone else to form a solid ensemble. I don’t play to a click unless when recording, but can keep the beat moving where it needs to be and really look to lock in with a good bass player to form a solid foundation.
Mostly interested in a good covers band playing Classic Rock/Dad Rock/Yacht Rock/70s80s90s with a mixture of some oldies, maybe some country, and a few more modern like Foo Fighters or Dirty Honey mixed in. A good bar band that can do three or four kick ass sets, but also book a special occasion now and then too.
Not in it for the money, mostly I am looking for people I like to play music with that have fun doing so, that enjoy making audiences happy, and who are not filled with drama and don’t discuss politics ever. Also I’m well past my partying days, especially when rehearsing and playing out; outside of those times everyone can let loose how they want.
If interested hit me up and let’s chat…
