Winter nights are special and Hidden Pond is a great place to wander slowly and explore. We’ll have the stars above us and the living forest around us. On a moonless night we’ll practice our night vision and open our other senses. How much can we see, smell, and hear at night? What animals are out at night, and how do they survive the winter? Is night vision different from day vision?
During winter the humidity is low and the stars are bright. We will stargaze, exploring the winter circle and each of the constellations that contribute a star to it. Like our ancestors we’ll gaze at the stars and as we do we’ll learn about how they used them to track the seasons, navigate the oceans and so much more.
