The original poster who's post titled "Never Forget" seems to be forgetting some important facts when he compares the January 6th insurrection with the unrest that followed the execution of George Floyd at the hands of the police. 1) George Floyd was executed in broad daylight at the hands of a racist cop. It was a public execution. The murder's co-workers/fellow police, you know, the ones we entrust with keeping law and order, with "serve and protect" stood by while their brother in blue snuffed out the life of Mr. Floyd. 2) Many of the protests were attended by peaceful protesters of all races because quite honestly the majority of Americans are tired of the systemic racism that exists in our society. 3) The January 6th insurrection was an act of violence intended to subvert democracy and overthrow our duly elected president. 4) The January 6th insurrection was an act of treason organized OF, BY, and FOR the benefit Donald John Trump and his corrupt allies (some of them members of congress). 5) Many of the participants in the January 6th insurrection were racists. They proudly wore the signs and symbols of their racist values (flags, apparel, patches). They attacked the police who were defending our democracy and attempted catch and kill our elected officials. So yes, NEVER FORGET. Never forget ALL the facts.
