Hello y'all! I'm posting this to help my mom. The housing market has been rough for our area for some time now. My mom has always dreamt of doing the whole off grid, tiny house/homesteading thing, where she can live quietly, in the country (or anywhere really at this point, not picky) where she can live more off the land, and a garden, try to tempt solar living, But it's impossible for her to find any places. She's about to become homeless with my brother, and so I was hoping there's someone on Craigslist that might have an idea to help, or an offer, that she hasn't tried yet. Is there anyone willing to either sell a small chunk of land for cheap, just big enough to either build a small mother-in-law type house, or have a more mobile type housing as a dwelling, big enough to have a nice garden, and some sort of minor level homesteading for income? Or even a rent of land? Or a house that's been sitting vacant for a long time, that the owners would be willing to work with her, on lower than average prices, just to fill the vacancy? Or if the price is low enough, she may have some kind of money just not a lot. Or does someone have a mother in law house thats vacant right now? Or a decent enough camper that she could manage to fix up, and turn into a 4 season home? Or even a large trailer to build a temporary housing structure/tiny house on top of? If she was able to somehow magically be able to play around with options on a small piece of land, she dreamt of making a fairy tale style/cob house as, you can make a home for less than $7000, with such materials.
