In Ireland, women take part in a unique non-religious tradition called Nollaig na mBan, or Women's Little Christmas. Historically, Irish women gathered on January 6th to enjoy a break from household chores while men stayed home and took over cooking and cleaning the home. Some women headed to the pubs, places that usually catered to men, and enjoyed pub fare. Other women gathered together in their homes and relaxed, enjoying each other's company and a respite from all the holiday work. Irish Heritage Club values tradition but also respects the importance of diversity, inclusivity, family , community and heritage. This year we are reintroducing the Irish little Christmas dinner event and opening up the invitation, to all Irish Heritage Club , and associated clubs ( IN Seattle, Seattle Gaels, Tacoma Rangers, Ceol Cascadia) members, their families and friends. It is a ticketed event, and registration is required . Maximum capacity = 100 places.
