38th Meeting of the Board on Science EducationJoin us for the public sessions of the biannual meeting of the Board on Science Education at the National Academies. We will be exploring current issues and pressing problems in informal/out of school STEM education with a fantastic line up of panelists. This meeting will be in a hybrid format: attendees can attend in-person at the NAS Beckman Center (Huntington Room) in Irvine, CA and/or view the meeting virtually. Space is limited for in-person attendance, and we will be following National Academies guidelines as set by the CDC. Areas of Discussion: • Children and Youth with Disabilities in K-12 and Informal STEM Education o William Therrien, University of Virginia o Shannon Daley, University of Rochester o Jonte Taylor, Pennsylvania State University • People with Disabilities in Post-secondary STEM Education o Logan Gin, Brown University o Anita Stone Marshall, University of Florida o Jackie Chini, University of Central Florida • Rural STEM Education (K-12 and Workforce Development) o Pamela Buffington, Education Development Center o Charlotte Agger, Indiana University Bloomington COVID-19 notice for attending in-person events:To prevent infection and spread of the COVID-19 virus, and as an integral measure toward the safety and health of everyone in our buildings, the National Academies require all individuals who enter our facilities to be up to date with their vaccinations against COVID-19 per CDC guidance. Visitors must show their official COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (or a digital photo of the card) to the security staff when they enter the facility. Anyone who fails to present a vaccination card (or its copy) will not be allowed access to our facility; no exemptions or exceptions will be accommodated. Visitors may choose to wear a mask but are not required to do so. This registration information is being collected via Eventbrite.
