PFFPD will be starting a new class of bagpipers and drummers in February. For any current or former IAFF member in the area that’s interested in learning an instrument and becoming a member of the band, please join us for a Q&A at the Local 43 Union Hall. We will cover the following topics, and any others that you’d like: -Introduction of some of our current member -Overview of our mission and the opportunities we have for performing -Explanation of the different instruments within the band -Plans for practices and rehearsal -Instrument and Uniform purchasing -The “sign off” process for performing ***Open to non-Portland firefighters as well! No musical experience necessary.***
