The centerpiece of the breakfast is the Portland-Southwest Washington Metro State of the Workforce report – a comprehensive evaluation of the current condition the region’s labor market, including the health of major sectors of industry; trends in hiring and firing; areas of anticipated growth; innovations in workforce training and development; and the region’s continuing efforts to recover from the coronavirus pandemic. Labor market economist Dr. Liza Morehead will present the report, and a panel made up of the executive directors of the metro area’s three workforce development boards, Clackamas Workforce Partnership, Worksystems and Workforce Southwest Washington, will take questions and offer their informed opinions on what we can expect over the coming year.
