Description
We are looking for a Custodian to serve as the contact to ensure day to day laundry and dishes are met. The custodian responsibilities include sweeping and/or mopping all areas, cleaning breakroom, and cleaning building areas, including entrances. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage various tasks on a daily basis to ensure our operations run smoothly. Ultimately, you will ensure our building is safe, clean, and inviting for all potential adopters and clients, as well, maintaining the laundry and dish room. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Maintain a clean, safe, and first-class environment throughout all common areas of our Adoption Center. Cleans, dusts, and wipes furniture; sweeps and mops floors; empties wastebaskets,and trash containers; refills restroom dispensers. Cleans and sanitizes all restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure. Cleans food bowls, water bowls and litter boxes. Maintains and organizes the dish room Washes, dries, and folds laundry. Maintains and organizes laundry room. Cleans and organizes the employee break room, including tales, floors, counters, and appliances. Performs bi-weekly deep cleaning on fridges. Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Uses as directed. Washes accessible interior and exterior windows. Assists teams with heavy cleansing tasks and special projects. Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of him/herself and others both in buildings and on the grounds. Maintains an inventory of janitorial supplies and restocks as necessary. Performs other duties as required and assigned. Minimum Job Requirements: Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required; 1-2 years’ experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the specific requirements may be substituted. Technical degree in a related field or an equivalent amount of training or experience preferred. Track record of quality work, organizational skills, and precise record-keeping Strong communication skills to interact with staff. Proven ability to assist with maintaining property security and safety systems Some computer skills in Microsoft Office products are needed We provide competitive experience-based pay, health insurance, continuing education, a retirement plan, and up to three weeks of paid vacation depending on longevity. Depending on experience and education beginning salary from $13.00 to $14.00 hourly We are a nonsmoking facility, so no smoking is allowed on campus, have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
