Description

Rehoming a hound mix, he’s a year old today! (December 20th) He’s potty trained, cat friendly, dog friendly (not safe for small dogs, he’s basically a big puppy and doesn’t realize his size, not intentionally harming anyone). Kid friendly, but would likely knock smaller kids over on accident. My kid is 3 and they’re BFFs. Very tolerant, very loving dog. Suspicious of strangers in his house, loving to them outside the house. He’s got an anxious mindset, so his suspicions need to be monitored. He’s not gonna be the dog to earn trick titles. He’s stubborn, crazy, and full of energy. He’d likely thrive learning something like bikejoring or canicross. He’s still gonna be an awesome pet for someone, but he’s gonna need an outlet for that energy and he’s definitely not a hunting dog. He’s not a tie-out dog. He needs a 5 ft+ fence or leash walks (where he will pull your arm off to catch a whiff). He has separation anxiety and requires a crate when left alone, hence why he doesn’t tolerate being left tied outside. The reason we’re rehoming is simply because we haven’t found a way to contain him. We have 4ft chainlink and that’s not holding him. We rent, so we can’t change the fencing, and he doesn’t tolerate a tie-out. I have two other dogs, both stay inside the fence. I’m now unable to accompany him outdoors, and I can’t chase him if he runs. He needs someone willing to put that time and effort into making him their best friend. Who will take him on structured walks AND sniffy walks. He’s an amazing dog, and he deserves the world. It’s heartbreaking that I’m not able to give him that anymore. He will come with an assortment of his favorite things, and his crate. Text for rehoming fee (very small, looking mostly for a good home) and pictures!
