Build your skills and improve your technique on the ukulele through 7-week one-hour classes in Zoom, each offered twice a week to give your flexibility. The earliest (Pluck & Strum) is offered on Monday 1/11/2021 from 10:30 am. See the full schedule on the event website at http://www.anneku.com/ukulele/ The other courses are PLUCK: Fingerpickin' Good! plucking patterns, picking out melody riffs, etc. Pre-req: can read and play from chord diagrams and tablature (tabs). Offered on Tuesdays 13:00 and Wednesdays 19:15 ET STRUM: Rhythm & Strums! improve your rhythm, execute even strums, accompany yourself without getting out of sync. Pre-req: can read and play from chord diagrams, do the basic down and up strums. Offered on Mondays Noon and Tuesdays 19:15 ET. CHORD MELODY: Pluck & Strum (or vice versa). Pre-req: can pluck and strum, read tablature etc. Offered on Mondays 10:30 ET and Thursdays 17:00 ET. Visit the event website to find out more. Once you’ve registered and paid for your class, you can take the first session of any class that week. Also, you have the flexibility of taking the other session or both once courses have started. Example: you are registered for the morning class but you couldn’t make it — so you attend the evening class (and vice versa). You might wish additional re-enforcement or practice, so you take the other class that week. These apply for PLUCK!, STRUM!, and CHORD MELODY (a.k.a. Pluck & Strum) classes that ocurr at two different times (different days of the week) each week. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Anne Ku is the author of a new 110-page book on the ukulele and has taught music at the University of Hawaii Maui College. With degrees in music from the UK and the Netherlands, she founded the ukulele movement in Historic Lower Mills and performs in the Boston Guitar Orchestra.
