Participants will learn to: • Identify how opioids affect the brain • Identify risk factors associated with - and strategies to reduce - an opioid overdose • Assist someone experiencing an opioid overdose • Administer naloxone to reverse an overdose The training will be led by Carrie Hough, Ph.D., MPH. Carrie is a Prevention Specialist at Community & Family Resources in Iowa City who facilitates training under the State Opioid Response Grant.
