Sunni Lynn will take the stage for her first ever full length show March 25 at Moon Family Theatre. This show will feature Sunni on the alto saxophone and as a vocalist. Alongside her will be a few of her Special Guests, on tenor saxophone, Kody Mincey and on drums and vocals, Jasper Currington. Sunni will take you on a trip through time with some great songs from all decades and genres of music, including popular songs from today. "...Sunni was born with music in her blood. Her PaPaw, Mike Moon, was the owner of The Stamps Quartet (Elvis' backup group in the 70s) for some years. She remembers her mom, Lynn Moon, telling her stories about The Stamps pulling up to her family home in Buena Vista, GA and gathering around the piano to sing. Her PaPaw and Mr. JD Sumner would have competitions seeing who could hit the lowest notes. If you know anything about Mr. JD, well, you know who won that competition. Her mom grew up around music and started playing the piano and singing at a young age. Lynn ultimately would go on to write hundreds of songs, including Jimmy Carter's Presidential Campaign song ("Peanut Pickin' Politican Man"). She performed in multiple shows at Opryland USA and toured with country artist, Vern Gosden. Needless to say, music lives in Sunni. ​When she was little, she took piano and drum lessons but at the age of 12, she found her true passion, playing the saxophone. Ever since then she has competed in local, state, and national talent competitions. She booked her first gig performing in a show in Pigeon Forge, TN at the age of 15. She recorded her first CD at the same time as well. At 21 years old, she was cast in 2 other shows in Pigeon Forge, TN where she sang and played the saxophone. Life got in the way after that and she just now got back into playing pretty heavily around 3 years ago. She started taking advice from the people around her and most everyone told her she would be crazy if she didn't pursue some form of a career in music. So here she is, finally doing what she thinks she was put on this earth to do."
