I listen and play the song...really not into the show my chops off at all. I can also play other instruments and do some vocals. I am enjoying writing my own music and learning to record and write music these days. I am looking for something that inspires me and I love creating music...prefer original music. I have been on too many stages in too many cities to begin here to list them. Just putting my drumming out there again after a hiatus from performing live music so I could get my kids to an older age. Would love to put something on the stage at xpn world cafe again... I can be found evenings at the cities main stages for live music (ardmore is killing it...118 north I just need to hit) and the dawson and grape from time to time...as well as some open mic stuff as I begin this search again. I'd like to find something that uses all of my skills and pushes some boundaries with regards to writing and singing and also playing some other instruments. My musical range is vast Cesario Evora to David Byrne to Buckwheat Zydeco to John Hiatt to The Pogues to Spoon to Caamp to Houndmouth...to Rayland Baxter, Andrew Bird...oh well my mind spins with good music. I have spent a substantial amount time in original Americana...Ska... Afropop...Reggae, Brazilian and Irish Music...in niche bands. I like Emily King a lot and Goose is new to me and good. Mark Knofler Blows my mind still. Local talent here in Philly is really good...just saw Joe P from Asbury NJ...wow...just fantastic. Not that into heavy guitar oriented bands...though Marcus King Band is great and so is Anders Osborn. Funk rock and 80 90's are fine too...did loads cover stuff here and there so I have the imagination and the tolls for a lot of things. Finally saw Marshall Crenshaw last month...and even Sonny Landreth with John Hiat. Really enjoyed Los Texmaniacs and Watchhouse at the Philly Folk Festival. Live is my primary search.
