This month's Culture & Cocktails coincides with Black History Month and is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the rich history of Washington County's black residents.
On Friday, Feburary 10, join local historian and author Dr. Emilie Amt for a lecture that highlights artifacts and treasures of black history from the WCHS collection including church records, artwork, nineteenth century photographs, and stories from the Miller House's past.
This month’s cocktails will be the Izzy-Bizzy, a highball cocktail from Tom Bullock's 1917 guide, The Ideal Bartender, the first cocktail book by a black bartender. This cocktail combines sherry, bourbon, and pineapple and lemon juice for a refreshing drink!
Culture & Cocktails 2023 has been made possible by the generous support of the James and Mary Schurz Foundation of Williamsport, MD.
