Description

Newspaper delivery Monday nights. This is folding and throwing newspapers out of your car window onto the yards of houses, like throwing Frisbee's. The deliveries remain 99% the same each week. You must have excellent email and texting through a working, charged, reliable cell phone. GPS is used to confirm deliveries. If you have experience delivering to homes, this is easier because you don't have to get out of your car, you just throw the paper on the yards. And the routes are the exact same every week, so it's much easier after two or three times. It takes about 6 hours once you know the route. The route stays the same, it gets easier. This will give you about $20 an hour, plus about $5 an hour for gas. (Normal delivery speed is 19 miles per hour). The route list has directions which way to turn and which yards to deliver. If you like throwing Frisbee's out of your car window, it can be fun, listen to your music, audio lectures, comedy, perhaps learn another language or listen to books through your speakers. You are an independent contractor, no taxes are deducted from your compensation. If you finish early, you still get the full compensation. This means each day will get a little bit faster. Compensation for the route is a flat $150. The last carrier on the route finished in under 6 hours. The first day it took about 7 hours due to about 5 wrong turns, she didn't follow the turn by turn directions exactly. If you make a right turn instead of a left turn, that's going to throw your time off. But two days of delivering the same route path, you'll know which way to turn without looking at the directions because it's the same path each time. The time drops down to 5 to 6 hours for the $150 Please copy and paste and reply to these questions: 1. What kind of vehicle do you have and the year? (Example, "4 door Impala, 2019") 2. What kind of vehicle is your back-up vehicle? (must have a back up vehicle) 3. Do you own both vehicles? (some have a relative's vehicle on call if needed) 4. In what city do you live? 5. To help me match the best delivery area for you, what is a major intersection near your home? (Do not give an exact address, just give two major streets that intersect nearby and the name of the city.) 6. Do you have a reliable cell phone with a good plan that can make and receive e-mails, texts and send photos? 7. Are you good at keeping your cell phone charged and replying to work related texts? 8. Do you have any experience in newspaper delivery (which company?) Note: Experience is *not* required. 9. How long would you like to keep the route if you like it? (until the end of the semester or indefinitely?) 10. Do you have proof of insurance in your name? (do not include in your email.) 11. Have you ever won a game of tennis or ping pong? Can you bounce a basketball or catch and throw a tennis ball? 12. Do you have another job or school or any other obligation in the afternoon after you finish your route? If yes, what time do you need to be finished with your route so that you can attend to your other responsibilities? Please reply to: [email protected] Candidates providing a phone number are considered first.
