Description

“Trauma isn’t what happens to you, it’s what happens inside you in response to what happens to you.” - Gabor Mate Are you curious about the relationship between trauma and your health? Join us to discover how trauma affects your Vagus nerve, which can eventually show up as autoimmune diseases, depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, hyper-vigilance, hypo-vigilance and many other ailments. In our next installment of our Community Wellness Series, we invite all members of our community to dive deeper into understanding stress and trauma and how it resides in your body. Throughout this dinner we will discuss what happens to your body when you encounter traumatic experiences (major or minor) and it is left unhealed. You will learn about the importance of the Vagus Nerve in daily bodily functions such as digestion, breathing, adapting to stress, Heart Rate Variability, respiratory rate, blood pressure, certain reflex actions such as coughing, sneezing, and swallowing and how these functions may be hindered through unhealed trauma. You will also experience different ways to strengthen and tone the Vagus Nerve. We look forward to sharing this meal and wealth of information with you all. If you know anyone who would benefit from learning about this important topic, please invite them. Please register so we know who will be in attendance with us. We hope to see you there! *Note: Meal reservations and meals are prepaid - for this reason, seating is limited to the first 30 registrants. All attendees and invited guests must be over the age of 21.
