Join us for this wonderful opportunity for staff and professors from UMass Amherst’s Engineering College, College of Natural Sciences (CNS) and Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences (Manning CICS) to have conversations with MA Community College faculty and staff. This is a gathering designed to strengthen connections between participants and remove barriers to graduation for 2 - 4 year degree transfer students. *This is an in-person event held on the UMass Amherst Campus. Agenda 9:45 - 10:00 AM EST Arrival and Check-in 10:00 - 10:30 AM EST Welcome to UMass Amherst! 10:30 - 11:45 AM EST Panel with UMass Amherst transfer students staff and college advising reps 12:00 - 1:45 PM EST Lunch and networking in the Amherst Room, Campus Center 2:00 - 3:15 PM EST Concurrent sessions for Engineering, CNS, and Manning CICS professors, to build connections, discuss academic programs and barriers to graduation for Community College transfer students. 3:30 - 4:30PM EST Community conversation designed to build connections through an open discussion format. The topic of discussion will be the information learned during the gathering and next steps. 4:30 PM EST Departure. About us: The GCC and UMass Amherst 2-4 year bridge committee is a collaboration between the UMass Amherst Engineering Department, College of Natural Sciences, Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, Greenfield Community College and UMass Amherst’s Admissions Department. The committee works together in an effort to remove barriers to success for transfer students through grants, program design, engagement with students and communicating with student success focused professionals.
