Come join local Stio Athlete, Jayson Simons-Jones, for an Avalanche Awareness Night to kick off the start of winter! Jayson will be presenting from experiences he has garnered over a 20+ professional career in the snow to get folks prepped for a winter of backcountry decision-making. Jayson teaches both Pro and Rec level avalanche courses for all three of the main American Avalanche Association approved providers and began teaching avalanche education professionally in 2002. He was a Crested Butte ski patroller for 5 seasons; Owner / Operator of Crested Butte Mountain Guides for 10 years; a founding member of the Crested Butte Avalanche Center; and has worked as a heli-ski guide in Alaska; snowcat ski guide in Colorado; and as an IFMGA Mountain Guide all around the world on skis. The evening will begin with Jayson's presentation along with a Q&A session. Attendees will enjoy non-alcholic refreshments and 20% off Stio apparel.
