Members $10 / Guests $15 Join us as Molly Kelly, Ph.D., Enology Extension Educator at Pennsylvania State University's Department of Food Science walks us through the science of tasting and German Riesling. "The Science of wine tasting: understanding your palate": You probably know how to taste wine, but many factors impact your individual tasting experience. We will explore the role of genetics, individual perception of sweetness and other aspects that contribute to a personal tasting experience. Hands-on activities included! "German Riesling 101: Overview of the German Riesling Wine Classification System": To most people, German wine means German Riesling. It is grown in every one of Germany's 13 major wine regions. Germans classify their wine by grape quality-from "table wine" to "quality wine". We will discuss the classification system and taste Rieslings from various levels of "quality". REMINDER TO BRING YOUR GLASSES AND GLASSES FOR YOUR GUESTS We will have carriers and glasses to distribute to new members. If you forget your glasses there will be plastic cups available.If you would like to dine at Colarusso's Coal Fire Pizza before the event please call for availability.
