Given the high levels of avoidance associated with anxiety disorders and stigma related to help-seeking behaviors, creative interventions for treatment have been demonstrated to increase engagement in a therapeutic setting.
This training will specifically focus on integrating improvisation and exposure therapy into treatment. A brief theoretical framework and research foundation for these techniques will be provided. All workshop attendees will have the opportunity to engage in active participatory methods, develop a toolbox for techniques to utilize with their own clients, and develop a plan for integrating these methods into more traditional therapy interventions.
This training will be led by Rachel Singer, PhD. Completion of this training is worth 1.5 CEU credits for counselors, social workers, and psychologists in the state of Maryland. This training will be offered virtually. Zoom details will be sent out as the event gets closer!
