What is the Mardi Gras Parade Disco Train? The Disco Train is a rolling disco party that follows the Disco Amigos in the Mardi Gras parades. If you've ever wanted to participate in Mardi Gras but don't want the commitment and expense of joining a krewe, then our Disco Train is for you! Think of it as a Don Cornelius 2nd line. It is open to anyone 21 and over who wants to join our funky disco party - great for locals and visitors! Hop aboard the Disco Train! Dancing and having fun with the crowdFood and drinks before and during the paradeAmigos port-o-let accessA unique experience!Your Disco Train ticket comes with a trial membership to the Disco Amigos from Feb 1 - June 30, which will allow you to participate in our social and charity events and non-Mardi Gras parades. You can also attend weekly practices and learn our funky moves to see if you wanna party with the Disco Amigos year-round! But again, it's no stress, no commitment -- do whatcha wanna! Parade Schedule and Rates Disco Amigos will be performing in the parades listed below: Krewe of Cleopatra: Friday 2/10, 7:00 pm - $100.00 + feesKrewe of King Arthur: Sunday 2/12, 1:00 pm - $100.00 + feesKrewe of Druids: Wednesday 2/15, 6:15 pm - $100.00 + feesKrewe of Iris: Saturday 2/18 ,11:00am - $100.00 + feesDisco Train Requirements: --- Disco attire is a MUST! Find a butterfly-collared polyester shirt, bell bottom pants, jumpsuit, and platform shoes, along with any other accessories (wigs, necklaces, sunglasses). You can only bring what you can carry. You are welcome to bring your own drinks for the Disco Train ice chest. --- No Party Favors! Mardi Gras laws do not allow parade marchers to throw or hand-out beads, cups, doubloons, stuffed animals, or any other items. --- Party, dance, and have fun till the polyester falls off. Other Important Information Parades are approximately 4.5 miles long. You will have to walk (dance!) during the parade. There is no option to ride on a vehicle. For most of the Uptown parades, we will be lining up on Napoleon Ave close to Prytania St. For Iris, will be lining up on Napoleon Ave on the lakeside of St Charles Ave heading towards S Claiborne Ave . Optional Shuttle for Disco Train Members To assist with getting you to the parades, we are offering an optional Disco Shuttle Bus (The Boogie Bus!) with round trip service from Robert's Bar at 3125 Calhoun St near S Claiborne Ave for all our parades. The Disco Shuttle Bus will pick folks up at Robert's Bar at the times listed below and drop everyone off as close to the Disco Amigo line-up spot as possible. The Disco Shuttle Bus will be waiting near the end of the parade to bring you back to Robert's Bar. Here is the schedule of shuttle bus pick up times at Robert's Bar: Krewe of Cleopatra: Friday Feb 10- Shuttle leaves Robert's Bar @ 3:30pm (Parade starts at 6:30pm)Krewe of King Arthur: Sunday Feb 12 - Shuttle leaves Robert's Bar @ 11:00am (Parade starts 1:00pm)Krewe of Druids: Wednesday Feb 15 - Shuttle leaves Robert's Bar @ 4:15 pm (Parade starts 6:15 pm)Krewe of Iris: Saturday Feb 18 - Shuttle leaves Robert's @ 9:00am (Parade starts at 11:00am).
