Are you ready for SBS SHOWDOWN???You better be screaming yes!!! We are so excited to be welcoming back the Summit community in our old Carrollton location now known as the Team Texas Training Center. To be eligible to sign up for this competition, you must have competed in one of our past 2022 SBS competitions (Denton, Grapevine, Norman). We will be double-checking once you have signed up, so if do not meet the eligibility we will be sending an email and refund your ticket. SBS Carrollton is on Saturday, January 21, 2023. We will have 2 WAVES for this competition to allow more of you amazing individuals to climb. Season pass holders, we DO need you to register for this competition to let us know, which wave you will be climbing in. Please look for an email from [email protected] letting you know the code for your ticket. Let's get down to business: Wave 1: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Check-in noon) Wave 2: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm (Check-in 5:00 pm) This competition is still a modified redpoint with an onsight final for our top 5 Elite climbers at the very end. Each wave has 3 hours to send the 8 banger boulder problems within your category. Competitor tickets are $37 and spectator are $20. Your ticket provides you food & drinks (ID must be presented) at the end of each wave and competitors will get a sweet SBS Showdown sticker. Finalist will be called at 9:30 pm, so all Elite climbers please be present at that time. Category breakdown: Beginner: VB - V2 (White, Green and Yellow) Intermediate: V2 - V4 (Red and Blue) Advanced: V5 - V8 (Orange and Purple) Elite: V8+ (Pink and Black) PLEASE no sandbagging - we will find you, and we WILL bump you! For some more incentive, here are the prizes (men, women, and non-binary are in separate categories!) Elite category (Cash prize): 1st prize - $200 2nd place - $150 3rd place - $75 All other categories (Summit Gift Card prize): 1st place - $25 2nd place - $10 3rd place - $5 Here's how the modified redpoint competition will work: - You have 3 hours to attempt the 8 boulders assigned to your category - You have unlimited attempts per boulder to get as far you can - You can either gain zone or/and top for each boulder - Tops must be controlled finishes - both hands on the top hold! - Scoring is based on your number of Tops and Zone - Scoring is honor system - please, no cheating!
