SPROUT and the New Orleans Food Policy Action Council (FPAC) are hosting Farm Bill listening sessions around the state of Louisiana. On January 22nd from 10-11:30a at Press St Gardens in New Orleans, we are partnering with the Greater New Orleans Growers Alliance (GNOGA) and Recirculating Farms to connect with farmers in Southeast Louisiana. During this time farmers/growers from all over the region will learn a bit about the Farm Bill, why it matters to ALL growers (including YOU), and how to make sure that your community and the rest of Louisiana growers have a say. We need you to share what matters to YOU as a grower! Growers will be given $20 for participating in the listening session, which just requires you to share your farming issues, concerns, and struggles. We will be gathering input from growers all over the state to coordinate a unified voice for small and mid-sized Louisiana farmers in the Farm Bill. We NEED federal policy and programs that really work! So what do you need? What isn't working? Heck, what has actually helped!?
Not able to make it, but still want to have your voice heard? Email Devin at [email protected] to give your input, or coordinate a time to chat on the phone!
Not in Southeast Louisiana, but want to join one of our other statewide sessions? Email Devin at [email protected].
