The Georgia Department of Economic Development Small Business Outreach seeks to provide greater direct engagement with communities. The Georgia Department of Economic Development wants to be sure that small businesses and entrepreneurs have all the resources they need to get started, grow and innovate. SGBC Members will have an opportunity to explore information, resources and opportunities for starting, growing or financing your small business in Georgia. Join the Southern Georgia Black Chambers as we welcome Mr. Allen Fox to South Georgia. Allen Fox works for the State of Georgia's Department of Economic Development as the Director for Small Business Outreach. About The Speaker Allen Fox is a consultant, spokesperson and corporate coalition founder with experience in corporate communications, change management, government leadership, and nonprofit consulting. Public affairs and communications experience include successfully forming a coalition of 700+ Fortune 1000 companies devoted to pro-business legislation and initiatives in the state of Georgia. Worked with c-suite leadership at top Atlanta corporations to develop strategic business plans and public relations campaigns that thwarted anti-jobs legislation. Successfully partnered with non-profit organizations and bi-partisan political leaders such as chambers of commerce, state political parties and US Senators. Created unconventional alliances that drove unified results successfully for 3 different campaigns involving business climate legislation. Management of media campaign while working as a founder and spokesperson include controlling a $1 million annual budget and direct oversight of contracts, fundraising and compliance. Budget creation experience extends to developing $20 billion budget that reflected key priorities of a state gubernatorial administration and writing strategic budgetary plans for all 160 state government agencies. Developed centralized communication platform and served as spokesperson for several nonprofits and Georgia Prospers. Appeared in multiple media platforms, including television, to discuss key strategic initiatives. Previous work also includes campaigning and policy advising for Governors and US Senators. Community involvement includes serving as the "Young Professionals Director" for a 2012 Presidential campaign. Volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America. Received Masters in Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. Completed a Bachelor's at Furman University in 2005, including a summer program at the London School of Economics.
