According to the U.S. Department of State, there are an estimated 24.9 million human trafficking victims worldwide at any given time. Human traffickers prey on adults and children of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities. To spread awareness, the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is hosting a human trafficking awareness and prevention forum on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The forum seeks to help parents and their children understand the different forms of human trafficking and signs of abuse, discuss what is happening around the world and in Atlanta, common misconceptions, and to promote prevention awareness, particularly in this digital age. Our panelists of experts will explore topics including, Law Enforcement & Prosecution Survivor Testimony & Victim Services Public Awareness and Community Outreach Strategic Planning, Policy, and Legislation This forum is FREE and open to the public. It is being hosted on the campus of The Westminster Schools on January 11 from 6:00p.m. - 800 p.m. in Barge Commons. Please park in the parking deck.
