The Commons Apres Ski Bash Concert Series continues on Friday, January 13, 2023 with one of the funkiest bands in the West, Tha Exchange from Tahoe/Reno, featuring acclaimed drummer Cliff Porter (Jelly Bread) and trumpeter Brandon Dolph, delivering what they call “Soul Rock Jazz Hop”. It’ll no doubt be a dance party to remember. About the series: Parallel 44 Presents & The Commons Café are pleased to announce another exciting season of The Commons Après Ski Bash Concert Series, featuring free monthly Friday evening outdoor performances by superb live musical acts at Mirror Pond Plaza in downtown Bend, at The Commons Café. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors: Mt Bachelor, Deschutes Brewery, Crow’s Feet: A Mountain Collective and in conjunction w/ the Downtown Bend Business Association and in support of Protect Our Winters. At each concert, the Deschutes taps start flowing and El Sancho tacos start rolling at 6:30PM and the music runs from 7PM to just before 10PM. All of the concerts are free and open to the general public of all ages. This season kicks off on Friday, December 16th with Central Oregon’s finest Psychedelic Rock band Watkins Glen celebrating guitarist Brother Gabe’s 50th birthday with a uniquely cathartic high energy live Rock show that combines well-delivered rock n’ roll songs with endlessly fascinating wanderlust improvisation. The season continues on Friday, January 13th with one of the funkiest bands in the West, Tha Exchange from Tahoe/Reno, featuring acclaimed drummer Cliff Porter and trumpeter Brandon Dolph, delivering what they call “Soul Rock Jazz Hop”. It’ll no doubt be a dance party to remember. The third date of our series is Friday, February 17th and features one of the NW’s most creative and unique up-and-coming bands, Family Mystic from Portland, whose songs, charm and heartfelt positivity are as endearingly playful as they are intimately engaging. To wrap up this season’s series, we’ve got Quattlebaum Quintet on Friday, March 17th, St Patrick’s Day. Banjoist Austin Quattlebaum is one of the finest musicians in the NW bluegrass/americana scene and his all-star “pickin’ party” band features hotshot guitarist Jeremy Elliott (Polecat) and shredding mandolinist Josiah Payne.
