In this didgeridoo sound meditation, we will begin toning with our voices using the vowel sounds to vibrate within our bodies. This will help slow us down and connect internally. We will then receive external vibrations from the earth-toned eucalyptus didgeridoo. Elements of the Native American flute, singing bowl, overtone singing, and relaxing soundscapes will also be incorporated.
The didgeridoo is considered to be one of the oldest instruments in the world dating back to at least 1500 years. Developed by Australian Aboriginal cultures, this simple instrument traditionally made from a termite-hollowed eucalyptus would be used to make animal sounds and as a way to connect to the creation myth of "Dreamtime".
For centuries, cultures have used some form of sound to induce meditative brainwave patterns where we can slow down, heal and connect wholly with ourselves.
Bring water, a yoga mat, and anything comfortable for lying, such as a pillow, blanket, and/or eye cover. Some yoga mats and floor chairs will also be available for use.
