The University of Tampa’s Office of Career Services and event partner, Career Services at the University of South Florida, will be hosting the 15th Annual Recruiting Trends Program. Back for yet another year, Dr. Phil Gardner, director of the Collegiate Employment Research Institute (CERI) at Michigan State University, will share the latest data from the recently released recruiting trends survey. Participants will get a firsthand look at the most recent recruiting trends (nationally and locally) influencing the college labor market, as reported by data collected from many local and national employers. Gardner and CERI are nationally recognized for their research on the transition from college to work, employment readiness of college graduates, and assessment of learning in the workplace. Program Agenda: 7:30 a.m. Full buffet breakfast and networking 8:15 a.m. Recruiting Trends 2022 Coffee & Networking Break Closing Keynote: Mr. Simon Kho | Director of Emerging Talent Programs at Discover 11:15 a.m. Final comments, continuing education units, and wrap-up Simon Kho is the Director of Emerging Talent Acquisition and Development Programs at Discover Financial Services. He oversees the team responsible for student attraction and recruitment, as well as the two-year rotational development programs for early career professionals globally. Simon is a career human capital leader with experience leading change across multiple industries. He has led the creation, expansion and turnaround of the university relations and emerging talent functions at a number of large, global employers including KPMG, BP, and JPMorgan. Outside of university relations, Simon has served as the Chief Talent Officer of a start-up financial advisory firm and Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition at one of the world’s leading executive search and leadership consulting firms. He is passionate about establishing university and emerging talent as a strategic imperative for long-term organizational success. Prior to corporate recruiting, Simon worked as a university administrator, working in Student Affairs at Michigan State University and Fordham University. Simon holds an undergraduate degree from Boston College. His masters degree, from Fordham University (NY), is in Counseling and Personnel Service.
