The session is about generating new poems as well as working with first drafts and stalled works-in-progress. Louise Robertson will present prompts and ways to get more from your process as well as information on how to craft prompts for yourself and others. Additionally, Robertson will present editing techniques and lead a discussion on this critical part of being a writer. Participants should bring what they need to write. About the Poet Louise Robertson serves as the marketing director and Zoom and web coordinator for the Writers' Block Poetry Night in Columbus, Ohio. Her full-length book of poetry, The Naming Of, was released in 2015 and her first novel came out five years later. Among her favorite publications and honors are two jars of homemade pickles she received for running a workshop. She has earned Pushcart nominations and Best of the Net nominations over that past several years. Workshop location details We are excited to partner with the Royal Oak Initiative to hold this year’s quarterly workshops at the Cooperative Chess Cultural Arts Center (80 Parsons Avenue) in the Olde Town East neighborhood near downtown Columbus. This workshop will be presented in person and virtually. This event is open to the public. Registration closes on Thursday, January 12, at 5 p.m. EDT.
