As a region, it’s time that we approach that growth with a mindset of abundance. Are there requirements of new companies and developers as they enter the region? What investments are we making to ensure that longtime residents have a place in the future? Does any of that actually matter? In this panel, we’ll discuss equitable approaches to growth, specifically through the lens of housing, transit and public education. MORNING BREAKOUT SESSIONS 10:45am-12:00pm (participants choose one) Work is changing. Are we? The landscape of work is fundamentally changing. We have five generations of talent in the workforce, and more people than ever before are demanding flexible and remote work options. Salary transparency is becoming the norm, and diversity, equity and inclusion is not a talking point. In this conversation, we’ll hear from employers and students about the required shifts in mindsets and policies to succeed in the workplace of the future. Speed Networking: We’re bringing back one of our most popular sessions from THRiVE 2022. During speed networking, a facilitator will guide the conversation and support you in making new connections. Who knows - maybe your next partnership, collaboration, or friend is in the room. LUNCH and AWARDS CEREMONY 12:15pm-1:30pm AFTERNOON BREAKOUT SESSIONS - 1:45pm-3:00pm (participants choose one) No is a Complete Sentence - Open Mic: A clear no paves the way for a satisfying yes. During our Open Mic session this year, you’ll have the opportunity to share your story of “no” - whether that’s the experience of laying a clear boundary, turning down a job offer, or rejecting an investor. Collectively, we will celebrate the power of no and connect over lessons learned. Grappling: The Impact of the Pandemic on our Students: In this fireside chat, we’ll engage education experts to understand the impact that the pandemic has had on our students, and strategies and opportunities to support students moving forward. AFTERNOON PLENARY 3:15pm-4:15pm We’ve got a lot. Why can’t we find it? The NC Center for Nonprofits reports more than 2,400 nonprofit organizations based in the Triangle alone. We’ve got thousands of employers. Dozens of networking groups. And yet, we often struggle to connect work going on across the region and reduce duplication of effort. Why is that the case? What would a transparent and easy to navigate civil society look like for the Triangle as a whole? In this conversation, we explore the opportunity. Closing Address 4:15pm-4:30pm
