Tish "SongBird" Martin brings a unique and different sound to the stage. Her rich and soulful contralto voice rocks stages globally. Born and raised in the small town of Louisburg NC, Tish started singing at the age of 3 in the church. Her mother knew then her little girl was talented and would change the lives of all blessed by her voice. When Tish got older she started leading songs in the church choir. Her singing ability led her mother to start a community choir for the teenage youth. The success of the choir led to a family quartet group which Landed Tish front and center as lead vocalist. Always having a passion for music, Tish wanted to explore different instruments. In this process she became very skillful in playing the flute and the drums. To date She's still her church's drummer. In 1998 Tish graduated from Louisburg High School and became a freshman at Saint Augustine's College to major in music. The school gave Tish her own piano as she would begin accompanying the Dean of Students to his different speaking engagements. Her entire life, all Tish ever sang was gospel. Then in 2007 she joined one of the biggest R&B cover bands in the Triangle area, Mixed Water. This was her first time singing R&B. Tish began to gain more knowledge of the industry and decided that she wanted her own identity. In 2011 she formed Tish SongBird and The Applauze. The popular and highly anticipated band covers R&B, Neo-Soul, Pop, and Rock. Since having her own band Tish has opened for or traveled with Chico Debarge, Tank, RL, Next, Calvin Richardson, BlackStreet, Jagged Edge, Fantasia, Chrisette Michelle, Sunshine Anderson, The Mary Jane Girls, The Isley Brothers, Musiq, Anthony Hamilton and Monica. She has also done production work for Big Daddy Kane. In November 2014, Tish dropped her debut album Perfect Imperfections and has experienced great success with album sales worldwide and as far as London.
