As third-grade reading proficiency at many schools has dropped to 20% in the wake of the pandemic, Lead to Read KC will convene a panel of business and employment experts in Kansas City to ask important questions regarding the impact early literacy has on workforce development and what can be done to support young readers:

Parking Instructions: The UMKC Cherry Street Parking Garage is located at East 50th Street between Oak Street and Cherry Street. Lead to Read KC has pre-paid for attendee parking on levels 5 or 6 during the event so there is no need to pay the garage meters. The parking garage is about a block north of the Bloch Executive Hall. From the parking garage, you can walk through the Student Union to get to the Bloch Executive Hall. Note: There is also some street parking available on Cherry Street.
