What is Safe Zone Training? The Safe Zone training was designed to create a safer, more welcoming and inclusive environment, to strengthen community responses to LGBTQ individuals seeking services and to encourage networking among allied professionals toward the goal of supporting the well-being of LGBTQ people. As a result of the Safe Zone training, participants will be able to: Provide visible support and resources for LGBTQ individuals seeking services. Offer a way for allies to indicate that they are safe contacts for LGBTQ people seeking services. Promote increased awareness and understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity.This training is offered as a core curriculum for those working in the Fairfax County Homeless Continuum of Care (CoC).  Please assure you have supervisors' approval to attend this class.   Should you sign up and cannot attend, you MUST un-register in Eventbrite to allow others to attend.  No shows will be monitored and reported to the appropriate supervisors.   Once you register, you will receive an Eventbrite email with the link to the class.
