help with Christmas

Me and my husband moved here to get clean and raise our kids this year has been tough not haven any family or nothing here we went to leave Thursday morning to take my husband to work and the car wouldn't crank I ask someone to come jump me off it jumped off and was running for 4 hours straight door dashing  I didn't turn it off then when I got home to get my kids off the bus it wouldn't crank try getting it jumped again made it to the store to get a alternator changed it still no power got a new battery. Still nothing even with a jump husband found a issue with the wire that goes to the starter replaced it car has power now but has gone into theft mode and haven to pay a mobile lock smith to come reprogram the key I'm supposed to work tonight but not till cars fixed he had missed two days and so have I I had 100$ to spend on my kids for Christmas and had all intention to go shopping yesterday till the car went down if car cranks maybe I can get them money back for the battery and get them all something each I understand that Christmas is about our lord and savior Jesus Christ but how do you tell your kids you can't get them anything this year if anyone has anything they could donate I would really appreciate it hate asking for help but what do you do to
