Job objective · To provide expertise in electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems to ensure high efficiencies in plant operations, also ensuring health & safety, food safety, quality and environmental procedures are followed at all times. Role and Responsibilities · Work with Production Management Team in order to establish current priorities and ensure that they are clearly defined. · Coordinate project work for the plant. · Provide expert technical advice on machines and associated equipment/systems to ensure production efficiency is maintained. · Ensure that all installations are carried out efficiently at agreed times and appropriately risk assessed. · Assist in the training of new engineers and operators in the necessary skills required to ensure staff has the necessary skills for their job. · Maintain and update knowledge of mechanical, pneumatics, electrical and electronic control systems and train staff as appropriate. · Use mechanical and electrical diagrams and appropriate instrumentation to test, diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and electronic and system faults. · Ensure that all planned maintenance is carried out on schedule and at a time to maintain production efficiency and food safety. · Maintain logs and records of work undertaken by the Engineering Team and Contractors. · Complete accident, breakdown on machine reports to aid identification of problem areas. · Give advice on remedial actions necessary to improve performance / efficiency, and report on any new installations. · Maintain training records for the Engineering Team. · Arrange for cover in his/her absence. Deputy for Maintenance Manager is Maintenance Supervisor. Qualifications and Education Requirements · Applicant should have experience in plant and equipment maintenance. · Applicant must have a supervisory skills. · Applicant must be able to communicate and work as a team. · High School diploma/ GED, some college or technical school a plus. · Will train the right candidate who has an understanding of the Roles and Responsibilities. Preferred Skills Strong ability to work with / collaborate with staff, management, and positively represent the organization within the community. Must have patience; good communication skills; good math, reading and writing skills. Mechanical and engineering skills a MUST.
