Description

The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center's annual Christmas Holiday Sleepover event is back. Schmidt's Sausage Truck and BARK Box will be there. Come and pick-up a deserving shelter dog on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the shelter (4340 Tamarack Blvd, Columbus, OH 43229). Drop-offs are on Tuesday, December 27th from 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Participants will have the option to extend their sleepover through the New Year. You do NOT have to be a resident of Franklin County to participate! Holiday sleepovers give the dogs an opportunity to spend time out of the shelter where they can relax and enjoy loving attention. The shelter will provide you with ALL the necessary supplies needed to care for your grateful houseguest. The staff works with each participant to find the best fit for your home and answer any questions you may have. If you can't imagine returning your dog to the shelter, ALL adoptions fees will be waived and you can adopt your new best friend for just $18 (the cost of the dog license). NOTE: This is a first come, first serve event. Walk-ins only. Your patience is appreciated. Prepare in advance! Having a list ready of all the dogs that you are interested in meeting with will help expedite the process. Check out who's waiting to be taken home ahead of time by visiting the website at https://dogadoptions.franklincountyohio.gov/ The website provides real-time updates so you'll know what pets are still available. For their safety and comfort, current pets will not be permitted inside the shelter. If you need to bring your dog along for a meet and greet, please bring someone who will stay with your leashed dog while you are inside.
