Join Kayla & Makaylah to explore vulnerability through the modalities of breath, movement, music, and journaling or drawing.
Meet your facilitators:
Kayla Connick is a board-certified music therapist with experience working with neurodiverse individuals with different abilities, in trauma-informed care, with residents within memory care units with varying degrees of dementia, and within special school districts. Kayla believes empathy is the driving force behind a beneficial therapeutic relationship and that music therapy focuses on the whole person’s strengths and unique needs. Kayla is a strong advocate for disability rights, survivors of trauma, and mental health awareness and accessibility to therapy services. In her own time, Kayla is a songwriter and can personally and professionally speak to the powerful therapeutic effect of music.
Makaylah McCleery, RYT200hr, is dedicated to living her yoga practice on and off the mat. She lives in accordance with the truth that everyone is a teacher, whether they know it or not. She is humbled to guide fellow humans through classes and other experiences.
It is her deepest desire to be of service in the most authentic way. It brings her joy to support others in tending to their minds, bodies, and spirits so that they may move through life with more presence, ease, and grace.
Makaylah and Kayla will guide you through a series of exercises to support you in exploring your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Space will be provided to allow you to express vulnerability through play, movement, breath, music, and writing or drawing. There will also be opportunities to vulnerably share with the group about your experience and your processes.
