Adrian Tirtanadi, Executive Director/Founder Open Door Legal Open Door Legal is pioneering the country’s first system of universal access to civil legal representation. Their goal is to show that when everyone has access to the law, poverty will be dramatically reduced. Their model of universal access is scalable, sustainable, and the most cost-effective way to address poverty. Currently serving about 40% of the cities population, over the next few years we plan to expand citywide, making San Francisco the first city in the country with universal access. They also hope to become a model for national replication, and want to have a systemic impact on how we, as a society, ensure justice for the poor. Adrian was inspired from an early age to think systemically about poverty and was moved to find solutions. This calling eventually led him to conclude that universal access to legal help was the most effective way of addressing poverty in America and brought him to law school. Immediately after graduating, he founded Open Door Legal.Sherol Chen, PhD - AI Research Engineer, Social Innovator. Dr. Chen has worked in AI for over a decade.
