On January 17, 2023, MLK50: Justice Through Journalism will host its first renter-focused event: Navigating Memphis’ Broken Rental System. The event will be from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38111.
There, renters will hear from experts about renters’ rights, eviction law, tips on finding affordable housing and more. And, they’ll be asked to share their housing experiences, disappointments and hopes with us at MLK50. We want to work with Memphis renters to build a more equitable housing system.
This is a free, family-friendly event. Dinner is provided.
Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions about the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
MLK50: Justice Through Journalism is a nonprofit Memphis newsroom focused on poverty, power and public policy — issues about which Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. cared deeply.
