Our speaker this year is Shawn Halcsik DPT, MEd, RAC-CT, CPC, CHC. She is the Corporate Compliance Officer at Encore Rehabilitation and former Vice President of Compliance & Clinical Services at Evergreen Rehabilitation. Shawn holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University (2009), Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in adult and continuing education from Carroll College (2005), Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University (1995), and multiple certifications including: Manual Therapy Certification from the Manual Therapy Institute, Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), RAC-CT through AANAC, and Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from HCCA. Shawn regularly speaks at national conferences including HCCA's Compliance Institute and AHCA/NCAL's Convention & Expo, and always provides her expertise from both the perspective of the provider and former PSC employee. Shawn currently serves on the Board of Directors of NASL, is Vice Chair of NASL’s Medical Services Committee, and is a subject matter expert and advisor for NARA’s compliance SIG. She is a former member of the American Physical Therapy Association Public Policy and Advocacy Committee, current member of HCCA Chicago Regional Conference planning committee, and current member of Health Care Compliance Association, American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination, and the American Academy of Professional Coders .
