Description

Kristen Martin is a person in recovery, founder of Gary Harm reduction and graduate of IU Masters Program in Social Work. She has a passion for creating low barrier resources in the community, providing training on how to identify and reverse overdoses, and changing how we approach and treat the disease of addiction. Her approach of compassionate care has been making progress in the drug using community. Sabrina Colbert is a Risk Reduction Specialist at the Aliveness Project of Northwest Indiana with two years of experience with HIV and Hepatitis C testing, educating and counseling. Sabrina provides presentations on HIV and Hepatitis C to raise awareness about how HIV and Hepatitis C is contracted versus how HIV and Hepatitis C is not contracted. She also specializes in educating the community about the importance of getting tested and knowing your status. Sabrina educates the community about stigma and how using the proper language can reduce stigma. Her main goal is to encourage everyone to get tested for HIV and Hepatitis C and know their status. Sabrina has earned an Associate of Science Degree from Ivy Tech Community College for Human Services/Social Work. She was on the Dean’s List several times and was the Director of Public Relations for the Human Services Club of Lake County. Sabrina has received awards from Ivy Tech Community College, the Aliveness Project of Northwest Indiana and received a Certificate of Achievement form the Indiana Department of Health. Sabrina spends her time at the Aliveness Project of Northwest Indiana being a compassionate team player and a supportive Risk Reduction Specialist.
