Atlanta Division for Award-Winning National Homebuilder Gives of its Time, Treasure and Talents to Help Build a Future Without Homelessness Atlanta, GA (December 15, 2022): During an event hosted by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) on December 8, HomeAid Atlanta honored the Atlanta Division for David Weekley Homes with its 2022 Builder Volunteer of the Year Award. Established in 2001, HomeAid Atlanta is a nonprofit with a mission to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education. As the designated charity of the GAHBA, HomeAid regularly partners with local builders, vendors and real estate partners to build, renovate, and maintain facilities for other nonprofits serving people experiencing homelessness. Over the course of the last year, David Weekley Homes has partnered with HomeAid to help more than 6,000 people in six different organizations with hands-on volunteer hours improving a facility, collecting food and school supplies through company-wide drives, donating clothing and household items, and making a financial contribution of $8,000. “We are always proud to partner with HomeAid Atlanta and other members of the building community to help our neighbors in need,” said Adam Cornett, Atlanta Division President for David Weekley Homes. “Community involvement is a founding principle at our company, and we have a dedicated CARE team that is tasked with identifying opportunities to fulfill needs and engage our staff in either volunteering their time or donating items to support the cause. I love that our team members all have a big heart for giving back, and I am thankful to HomeAid Atlanta for not only supplying opportunities for us to serve, but also for recognizing our willingness to do so.” Since its launch more than two decades ago, HomeAid has completed over 170 construction projects at locations for victims of domestic violence, teen mothers, veterans and more, utilizing connections with building industry professionals and community organizations. HomeAid also provides essential items like diapers, wipes, and hygiene products to those affected by homelessness. While volunteer opportunities are often limited to members of the construction and real estate industries and their families, anyone can make an online donation to HomeAid Atlanta at www.homeaidatlanta.org. A leader in volunteer and philanthropic efforts within the home building industry, David Weekley Homes’ divisions in 19 markets across the U.S. stand committed to uniting its team members with an extended family of Homeowners, Homebuyers and community partners to improve lives.
