The text and email associated with this posting are not monitored. --- Key aspect of this position is to purchase material and services at the lowest possible total cost with the highest quality in a timely and efficient manner. Principle Accountabilities: Quote, buy, and expedite specified commodities from outside suppliers. Manage all material deliveries to ensure on time delivery. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and meet company objectives. Evaluate and prepare supplier performance reports on the delivery, cost, and quality of products and services. Select, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to ensure ISO-9001:2000 compliance. Proactively identify and support production work order requirements to minimize production delay due to materials shortage, quality issues and reduce costs. Plan purchases by reviewing materials and supply requirements from MRP reports, plan package, contracts, and change orders. Obtain quotes by forwarding materials and supplies requirements to supplier; evaluating alternative materials and supplies. Place orders by negotiating price, terms, and delivery of materials and supplies. Ensures detailed bid and proposal packages are maintained. Control Inventory Management –Maintaining appropriate and accurate inventory levels including managing excess or slow moving materials. Coordinate, manage and direct companywide inventory as necessary. Maintain legal and customer required compliances including but not limited to RoHS/REACH/Conflict Mineral/NAFTA/USA. Resolve delivery discrepancies by comparing purchase order to delivery documentation; obtaining credits and refunds. Improves quality results by analyzing materials, supplies, and vendor reliability, quality and service; recommending changes. Reduce costs by evaluating alternative materials and supplies; negotiating pricing and terms. Provide management planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Ability to match requirements to supplier capabilities. Provide formal reporting to management and/or customer team status, variances, and/or problem resolution. Buyer will be a key member assisting on APQP/PPAP and RFQ teams to create continuous improvement and quality. Position Requirements: Experience in major subcontracts administration and outsourcing efforts preferred. Ability and willingness to travel on occasion. Ability to work positively in a fast-paced team environment. CPM and/or APICS certification a plus. Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities. Self-starter and proven problem solving ability. Experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment. Commodity knowledge should include but not limited to sheet metal components and fabricating processes. Ability to handle multiple tasks/assignments. Strong Vendor Management and expediting skills. Highly organized and good communication skills. Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel knowledge is required. BS Degree desired.
