Utah Youth Coalition Presents: The Teenage Brain, Development, and Substance Abuse. The brain is still maturing during the teenage years. This may help explain why teenagers sometimes make decisions that are risky and can lead to safety or health concerns, including drug and substance abuse. We will look at the developing brain along with drug and substance abuse prevention strategies.
