Description
This plant spirit meditation practice is rooted in the Wise Woman Tradition, one of the oldest traditions of our time, that is honored by many ancient cultures and indigenous people. For this community meditation offering, we will gather in sacred space, a safe environment for all, and you will be guided through a 45-minute meditation with an overnight infusion of "Nettles", followed by 45-minutes of weaving experiences, plant profile discussion and open-discussion. Nettles is a pre-historic plant that grows abundantly all around the world and is full of ancient wisdom and earth medicine. Nettles can be made into a tea, is often prepared and eaten by traditional cultures in soups and stews, and is a deeply, rich nourishing herb loaded with vitamins, nutrients, minerals & enzymes that aid in supporting optimum health, function, wellness and vitality. Not only is Nettles a nourishing herb that is safe for all to consume, the spirit of Nettles can offer the support of one setting healthier boundaries in daily life to help protect one's energy, can give you the grit and ability in "saying no" to people, places and/or events that are draining and unfulfilling (the people-pleaser mentality), further enabling one to go in the direction towards "saying yes" to only what feels good, nourishing, supportive, joyful and heart-centered. For the guided meditation portion, Kristy will invite you to enter sacred communion with the “Nettles Plant Spirit”. You will be guided on connecting with your breath, to help ground and relax into deep presence, allowing for deeper connection with your inner guidance system and energy centers of the body. A circle of protection and blessings will be cast, calling in the directions, elements, guides, and plant elders. You will then be invited enter sacred communion with the plant spirit, as you sip an overnight infusion of this herb, further opening to receive the plant medicine, healing, and plant wisdom. Through this communion and practice, we open and soften into deeper sense of connection with our intuitive self, the earth, & spirit. Following the meditation, there will be an opportunity to share & weave our experiences together, followed by an overview and discussion of the plant profile & traditional uses before we close in gratitude. A pdf of the Nettles Plant Profile will be emailed to participants, following the event, in an effort to conserve paper. The total planned duration of this meditation and discussion is 1.5 hours; however, an extra half-hour will be available for those that wish to stay a bit longer and have further discussion and conversation about their experience. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring your favorite mug, a journal and pen, water, and a yoga mat or blanket to sit on. If you do not have a yoga mat, please bring a blanket or something comfortable to sit on, as we will be seated on a hardwood floor. Due to the nature of this meditation and limited timeframe, please arrive 15-20 minutes early as we will begin joining in circle promptly at 10am to allow for brief introductions before beginning the meditation. Arriving early with plenty of time to get settled, will help ensure that everyone's time and energy is mutually respected, enhancing the collective energy of the space and optimizing the bliss, connection, and experience for all. Looking forward to sharing this beautiful communion with Nettles, together in community. Blessed be, ~ Sacred Wild Roots Contact Email: [email protected] Follow on Instagram: @sacredwildroots_
