Hello I have a new tank set up and a beta fish that petsmart won’t let me return even though I said I don’t want a refund. I have the receipt on my phone and can show you he’s new and healthy. I just changed my mind bc of work. This is free for a kid or woman sorry I just don’t want mean strangers in my house. It’s a five gallon tank with oval marbles a plant that’s split into three a heater for a ten gallon tank. A air pump bc betas can not handle regular filters they will suck them up and throw them around. Amazon is sending my new beta filter should be here by Thursday. The beta is white male. Things you should know, betas require calm relaxing waters an air pump which you will get should only be left on for about five to six hours a day and some say air pumps stress them out and you will be able to tell if he’s not calm. I have some beta water conditioner if you use tap water but my suggestion is not to. But if you have no choice don’t put him in until you test the water with one of the water strips. You must put beta conditioner in the tap water and it will take 2ml per gallon this is a five gallon tank. I have two food things for him but he spits out the pellets I think they’re too big for his mouth. He’s very happy and healthy right now but he’s sensitive to the filter and seeing his own reflection in the tank drives him crazy so make sure you put some gravel so he doesn’t freak out.
