Ok, I am generally bewildered that there cannot be any “qualified” musicians in the area that are into the neo progressive bands based out of Scandinavian countries, such as Norway, Sweden and Finland, etc. While I love ELP, Genesis, Yes and other classic prog bands, I do not particularly want to emulate them as I’d like to have a more modern approach and sound! Something heavy and on the darker side! If anyone is familiar with bands, like Opeth, Katatonia, Circus Maximus, Soen, Rendezvous Point, The Pineapple Thief, Sylvan, Threshold, Riverside-that would be something I would be interested in! At this time, I am looking to either join or put together an original act based on that concept of bands or in the progressive metal direction! Absolutely not interested in “happy”sounding bands like Styx or anything with a feminine sounding voice! And certainly no cover or tribute bands whatsoever if you get my point!
