Description
Fair housing laws protect you from discrimination. It’s illegal to discriminate against a person about a dwelling because of a person’s disability. It’s illegal to refuse to rent or sell a home to someone because they have a disability or because someone thinks a person with a disability will have trouble living on their own.
Everyone, including private and public landlords, realtors, condominium or homeowner associations, and others has to follow fair housing laws. People selling or renting homes also must allow a person to make reasonable modifications and must make reasonable accommodations that help a person equal access to their home as people without disabilities have to their homes.
