Invasive insect pests and pollinator conservation are two emerging concerns for Michigan residents that, at times, seem to be at odds. In this program with MSU Extension Entomologist and Horticulture Educator, Nate Walton, you will learn how to manage your green space for invasive insect prevention AND pollinator conservation. Learn about the biology of our native pollinators, what you can do to help them, and hear the latest invasive insect news for our region. About our Instructor Nate has an MS and PhD in Entomology from Michigan State University. He is a Consumer Horticulture Educator for MSU Extension in Leelanau County and the Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Coordinator for the Northwest Lower Peninsula. Nate enjoys teaching adults and youth of all ages on subjects such as pollinator conservation, environmental stewardship, and integrated pest management.
